10 Delicious Things To Do With Girl Scout Cookies!

Spread the love

“Would you like to buy some Girl Scout cookies?”

If you’re anything like us, your answer to this question is always a resounding “Yes, please!” Girl Scout cookies are one of our favorite treats, and since they’re only available for a limited time each year, we have to snatch them up when we can. We like to think of it as supporting young female entrepreneurs… if that means buying 5 boxes of Thin Mints, so be it.

Both of us were cookie dealers Girl Scouts back in the day, and Lisa was Sarah’s troop leader for several years. Cookie sales were always serious business in our house.

As soon as the selling window opened, we were pounding the pavement in our neighborhood and calling any relatives who lived within driving distance, asking that all-important question. Neighbors would wave Sarah down in the street to ask when it was cookie time!

We even saved our order forms from previous years so we could track down our best customers!

Our favorite way to eat Girl Scout cookies is straight out of the box. (We’re told they’re also delicious when frozen, but we’ve never been patient enough to find out for ourselves.)

While there’s nothing wrong with this approach, there are so many other ways to enjoy these iconic treats!

One year I (Lisa) was the official “Cookie Mom“. Yes, it’s a real title. That meant cases and cases of Girl Scout cookies were everywhere in our living room. 🍪

Here are 10 of our favorite creative ideas for enjoying Girl Scout cookies:

  1. Bake some cookies into a pan of brownies for some extra texture and flavor. Can you imagine a warm, chocolatey brownie packed with gooey pieces of Samoa? Mmmmm…
  2. Add crumbled cookies to a mug cake for a decadent dessert for one. (This recipe from the Pioneer Woman is our favorite and would be fantastic with Thin Mints or Tagalongs!)
  3. Use cookies as the base for mini cheesecakes.
  4. Crush cookies into fine crumbs and use them as a pie crust. We think a Do-Si-Dos crust would be delicious!
  5. Top an ice cream sundae with your favorite cookie. (Make your own ice cream if you’re feeling ambitious.)
  6. Layer cookies with whipped cream or pudding and berries in a tall glass for a picture-perfect treat. Trefoil trifle, anyone?
  7. Upgrade your childhood memories to a more *adult* indulgence, like a boozy milkshake. Earn some extra “Brownie points” and use cookie crumbs to decorate the rim of a glass!
  8. Whip up some Girl Scout cookie bark– because you can never have too much chocolate!
  9. Make s’mores with your favorite cookie instead of graham crackers. (Try it with the actual S’mores cookies for s’mores-ception… we dare you.)
  10. Build a sweet charcuterie board, anchored by- what else?- cookies! Here’s some inspiration to get you started.
