Sarah Lisson

Sarah Lisson is a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) based in Knoxville, Tennessee. Since early childhood, Sarah has held a keen interest in all things tasty and a willingness to try nearly anything once. Throughout college and graduate school, Sarah deepened her love of food and began to hone her talent for storytelling. She’s always on the hunt for recipes and dishes with interesting stories behind them and frequently shares what she’s been cooking and eating on her Instagram page. When she’s not working or blogging, catch Sarah watching her favorite period dramas or singing with the Knoxville Choral Society.

Go-to takeout order: Pizza or Mexican food (preferably from a local restaurant)

Favorite ice cream flavor: Honey lavender

On her culinary bucket list: Cook through an entire cookbook, a la Julie & Julia

Lisa Lisson

Lisa Lisson is a genealogy researcher, speaker and blogger at Are You My Cousin? based in Raleigh, North Carolina.  Lisa began cooking as a child with the ever popular Easy Bake Oven and continues her love of cooking today. She spent many hours in the kitchen with her children cooking everything from tasty cookies (chocolate chip cookies were the favorite!) to homemade lasagna. Even today, Lisa loves exploring new recipes and foods with her daughter Sarah! When she’s not chasing down ancestors or blogging, Lisa can be found running the local trails or binge-watching Netflix.

Go-to takeout order: Mexican!

Favorite ice cream flavor: Chocolate (always!)

Tinker

Tinker came home with Sarah in February 2021, and she’s been an integral member of our team ever since. A cat after her mom’s own heart, Tinker has a discerning palate and loves spending time in the kitchen. Most importantly, she’s an excellent snuggle buddy and can often be found squeezing in between Sarah and her laptop keyboard. Oh, and whatever she tries to tell you, she’s definitely been fed today.

Favorite food: Tuna or chicken with gravy

Hobbies: Birdwatching, jumping on the kitchen counters

Special skills: Ninja-like stealth, talking to birds

Cora

Lisa brought Cora home in February 2022. Cora is the most talkative cat we’ve ever met and doesn’t hold back if she wants to say something. She’s full of purr-sonality and lives by a “work hard, play hard” philosophy… emphasis on the “play hard.” Her favorite time is mealtime, so she fits right in with our team. When she needs a break, catch her napping under the kitchen table or in her favorite chair.

Favorite food: Seafood treats

Hobbies: Parkour, supervising the neighbors’ dogs

Special skills: Public speaking, making new friends
